Round 1, 2014

Hi All,

Isn’t it great to have the footy back !!!!

Round one has historically been a nightmare for the average punter , often teams that you don’t expect, do something completely out of the ordinary , for example Parramatta beat the Warriors by 40 in the first round last year yet as we expected , it was shown later not to be the real form.

Having said that we are not here to get splinters sitting on fences we are here to try and find a little earn whilst watching the greatest game of all.

Round One Bonanza.

I have settled on 4 investments which I feel will a nice conservative way to start 2014.

  1. Rabbitohs Vs Rooster.    Under 38.5 points in the match @ 1.85.

Both teams will be primed for a big start to the season and there will be fierce forward clashes here but both defences are excellent and I just don’t see either team scoring much more than 20 points.

  1. Penrith Vs Newcastle.  Either team to win 1-12 @ $1.60.

This game to my eye looks very evenly matched and I can’t see one side or the other running away with this so early in the season.

  1. Manly Vs Melbourne. Manly to win @ $1.57.

The loss of Cooper Kronk is enormous for the Storm and unfortunately the backup cavalry are just not of the same standard and they are facing Cherry-Evans & Foran who are simply the games benchmark.

  1. Cowboys Vs Canberra. Cowboys to win by 7 or more @ $1.60.

Cowboys are traditionally good at home , Raiders are traditionally bad away, Both teams with new coaches but Cowboys have a fantastic roster and will be primed to show Paul Green what they can do.

That 4 leg mutli comes to $ 7.44 or $148.80 for $20.  Good way to start the year.

Smithy has given me $50 to invest each week and I am to show a progressive total after each round.

My Bets this week with the $50 are :-

  1. $20         4 leg multi as above.
  2. $15         Under 38.5 points Rabbits Vs Roosters ( return $27.75)
  3. $15         Double Manly to win into Cowboys -6.5 ( return $37.65)

Good luck and enjoy the footy….    MR X.
